Seal of the White House Office of Homeland Sec...

 My trip to the store……
There was a bit of confusion at the store this morning. When I was ready to pay for my groceries, the cashier said, “Strip down facing me.”
Making a mental note to complain to my congressman about Homeland Security running amok, I did just as she had instructed. When the hysterical shrieking and alarms finally subsided, I found out that she was referring to my credit card. I have been asked to shop elsewhere in the future.
They need to make their instructions to us seniors a little clearer!

In the United States, Social Security benefits...

Image via Wikipedia

This fellow said very directly what many of us “over fifty” folks have been saying for some time. It’s time that the politicians quit referring to Social Security as an entitlement program. WE paid for it. It was a very solvent program until Congress pilferred BILLIONS away to pay for their scandalous entitlement programs  Those programs are benefiting people who never paid one cent into into them. Please read the following:

Alan Simpson, Senator from  Wyoming , Co-Chair of Obama’s deficit commission, calls senior citizens the Greediest Generation as he compared “Social Security” to a Milk Cow with 310 million teats August, 2010.

Here’s a response in a letter from a unknown fellow in  Montana …. I think he is a little ticked off!   He also tells it like it is !

“Hey Alan, let’s get a few things straight..

1.) As a career politician, you have been on the public dole for FIFTY YEARS.

2.) I have been paying Social Security taxes for 48 YEARS (since I was 15 years old. I am now 63).  (Note I said “paying”.  Social Security is NOT an entitlement as you would have us think.  We PAID for that right, unlike you Congressional ’employees’.)

3.) My Social Security payments, and those of millions of other Americans, were safely tucked away in an interest bearing account for decades until you political pukes decided to raid the account and give OUR money to a bunch of zero ambition losers in return for votes, thus bankrupting the system and turning Social Security into a Ponzi scheme that would have made Bernie Madoff proud.

4.) Recently, just like Lucy & Charlie Brown, you and your ilk pulled the proverbial football away from millions of American seniors nearing retirement and moved the goalposts for full retirement from age 65 to age 67.  NOW, you and your shill commission are proposing to move the goalposts YET AGAIN.

5. ) I, and millions of other Americans, have been paying into Medicare from Day One, and now you morons propose to change the rules of the game. Why? Because you idiots mismanaged other parts of the economy to such an  extent that you need to steal money from Medicare to pay the bills.

6. ) I, and millions of other Americans, have been paying income taxes our entire lives, and now you propose to increase our taxes yet again. Why? Because you incompetent bastards spent our money so profligately that you just kept on spending even after you ran out of money. Now, you come to the American taxpayers and say you need more to pay off YOUR debt.

To add insult to injury, you label us “greedy” for calling “bullshit” on your incompetence. Well, Captain Bullshit, I have a few questions for YOU.

1.) How much money have you earned from the American taxpayers during your pathetic 50-year political career?

2.) At what age did you retire from your pathetic political career, and how much are you receiving in annual retirement benefits from the American taxpayers?

3.) How much do you pay for YOUR government provided health insurance?

4. ) What cuts in YOUR retirement and healthcare benefits are you proposing in your disgusting deficit reduction proposal, or, as usual, have  you exempted yourself and your political cronies?

It is you, Captain Bullshit, and your political co-conspirators called Congress who are the “greedy” ones.  It is you and your fellow nutcases who have bankrupted  America and stolen the American dream from millions of loyal, patriotic taxpayers.  And for what?  Votes.  That’s right, sir.  You and yours have bankrupted  America for the sole purpose of advancing your pathetic political careers.  You know it, we know it, and you know that we know it.

And you can take that to the bank, you miserable ASS.

If you like the way things are in  America , ignore this.
If you agree with what a fellow citizen says,  PASS IT ON ! !

Why am I not surprised! I also would not be surprised to read that this happened (maybe to some extend still happening today?) also in other civilized countries.

How many of the 500,000 government job cuts will be in IT? – Inside Outsourcing

I received recently an e-mail with the following content:

A clunker that travels 12,000 miles a year at 15 mpg uses 800 gallons of gas a year.

A vehicle that travels 12,000 miles a year at 25 mpg uses 480 gallons a year.

So, the average Cash for Clunkers transaction will reduce US gasoline consumption by 320 gallons per year.

They claim 700,000 vehicles so that’s 224 million gallons saved per year.

That equates to a bit over 5 million barrels of oil.

5 million barrels is about 5 hours worth of US consumption.

More importantly, 5 million barrels of oil at $70 per barrel costs about $350 million dollars.

So, the government paid $3 billion of our tax dollars to save $350 million.

We spent $8.57 for every dollar saved.
I’m pretty sure they will do a great job with health care, though.

EMails and publications like this show again how narrow-minded and ignorant some people are.

The “Cash-for-Clunker” program was never put into place in order to save on oil and gas, but rather to give the American people an incentive to buy a new car. This in return helped the US automotive industry, saved work places and kept the industry going.

Without this program, tens of thousands of additional jobs would have been lost.

Not only automotive companies would have failed but hundreds of underlying companies that manufacture and supply the automotive industry as well as  support these car manufacturers and its suppliers  would have gone out of business.

This in return that would have meant even more unemployment benefits to be paid. Workers and staff that would have been laid off would have had no money to spend, which then would have led to and even bigger economical disaster.

Saving on oil and gas by having more fuel-efficient cars just is an added on bonus.

I encourage everybody to see the whole, bigger picture and not just what it seems like at first sight or what some bad-mouthes would like you to see.

US Government is living in a dream world

Cost of living going down?

Cost of Living

Cost of Living

What planet does our government live on?

I was just grocery shopping yesterday and I got some nasty surprises.

There is an item (at this time I will not single out a particular brand and product, since it is representative across the board) we buy regularly. It used to cost (Sept. 2009) for a 7.0 ounce package $4.59. Yesterday I bought the same item in the same store. The package was sized down to 3.5 ounces but the price was $3.99. For the one challenged in math, like our government that is an increase in cost of $2.44 (half the amount should be only $2.55) or over 100%. Same is happening with many other products. Less product but higher cost.

And by the way – the 7.0 ounce package was not available anymore. Something is wrong with this picture.

When does it ever end?

Foreclosures Up 7 Percent In July From June

Retail numbers are down in July against predictions

New unemployment filings up last week against expectations

Does it ever end? How much longer will this be going on? And then these Economists are all surprised about it.

We are in the worst recession since WWII. We are in uncharted waters.

How can anybody even dare to make predictions?

Let’s stop making predictions and wrongly raise hope for millions of people.

Everybody stop listening to these so-called “Economic Analysts/Specialist”!

There guess right now is as good as anybody elses guess.

Let’s just live everyday like it is the last and do whatever you think is the right thing to do.

If you want to spend money, just do it.

If you think you need to save, just do it.

At the end it is us that control the economy. Don’t let anybody manipulate your thinking and try to steer you in a unknown direction, because this is what got us into this mess. We listened to much to these “Specialists”.

We, the people, have the power to make it happen.

Let us all reclaim this power.

Don’t listen to the news!

Don’t believe everything you are told!

Don’t believe everything you read!

Believe in your gut-feeling!!

Believe in what you think is the right thing to do!!

Don’t let the media or the government or the banks manipulate you into their way of thinking!!

Do what you think is the right thing to do!!
